Ok first off. I am sorry that I didn´t get my email off last week. That was super dumb because the internet went out. But things happen eh? Harrison is super duper precious! :) Super duper. Haha I am so happy for them and you guys. Grandma Nette wrote me and told me of all the babies that have come and are coming this year. It makes me happy. Haha
So this Friday Jaquelin is going to be baptized! :) And it just makes me happy. It has been an amazing experience with her because her mom and daughter are members. And for 5 years missionaries have tried with her and she just didn´t want anything. Through this experience I have been able to see how the Lord prepares the people over time. And they finally have the desire to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. O que GOZO!!!! It is moments like these that make EVERYTHING WORTH IT! The constant rejects and all of the sacrifices. I know that what happens on the mission is for a reason. :) So that has been good. But besides her we have been struggling a little bit with finding news... still. But WE SHALL CONTINUE!!! :D haha
This week has also been very Templish. I went to the temple today and the peace there is another witness of the truthfulness of the church. It gives me the strength to keep going. :) On Sunday it was the rededication of the Mexico City Temple. It was AWESOME!!! Pres. Eyering and Elder Holland were there. Elder Holland actually speaks pretty good spanish! Didn´t know that but it was cool! It was also very hilarious to see Pres Eyering not understand anything. Haha they had a translater but he tried to pronounce one of the Stakes and it is like an ancient Aztec King name and he slaughtered it. HAHA and the next one he just stops and looks at the translater with a big smile. And the translater says this crazy name and he just says Gracias. Haha :) But it was very spiritual. One of the area of the Seventy spoke and he talked about the open house of the temple where another religion came and said "I see the alter. But where is the sacrifice?" and talked about sacrifice and that the lives of us are the sacrifices. This talk reminded me of a scripture.
3 Nefi 9: 19-20
19 And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away, for I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings.
20 And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not.
He doesn´t want sacrifices. He wants a broken heart and a contrite spirit. In the temple THAT is the sacrifice. A broken heart and a contrite spirit. :) That is it!
I love mission. I love the Temple. And I love the Gospel. And I know it is true. I love you family and friends!Victory hand :D
