Cool beans :) ‏December 7, 2015

The cold has hit! WOOF haha And the bad news is that our heater has broken. And our owner doesn`t plan on fixing it until the summer! So.... I guess I will be sleeping in 40 degree weather. :) Haha It isn`t the sleeping part. It is the getting out of bed part that is dificult in the winter. Haha But no worries. I have done it before, so I shall do it again. So I had a pretty good experience this week. :) It was cool because we were working working working, and then Elder West called us. He is in one of my old areas in this same zone. And he said do you remember Angel? And I was thinking thinking thinking, and then I remembered. It was a teenager that we found. And we taught him a couple of times. And he wasn`t comleting his commitments, and he didn`t want to come to church. SO we left him. Now it has been more than 7 or 8 months and Elder West knocked his door. And he opened it, and he said that he read the Book of Mormon, that he knows it is true, he went to church with his friend twice, and wants to be baptized. :) Man it is just cool to know that even though it wasn`t his time when I went. The Lord prepared him, and I got to plant the seed! :) Haha Cool no? I was pretty happy. I have had a good time with sharing the video Ha nacido un salvador. It has helped us get new investigadors. And it has been pretty cool. Lucas 2 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. In spanish it says I bring you good news! Haha Isn`t it great news? We have someone that has saved us from our sins, mistakes, and hurt. Someone that takes away all of this. How many people do we know that maybe don`t understand why this is necesary? who don`t know in their hearts, that Christ has SAVED US!!! And we only have to accept it! I am sure thankful for the opportunity to share this good news. And I love it a lot. I love all of you a lot too by the way! :) I love ya guys! Elder Slade

Thanksgiving was great! On to Navidad!‏ November 30, 2015

FAM AND FRIENDS!!! Number one. the new video of the church is awesome! I hope you have all seen it by now! I hope to use it now. And number two! I want to implement an idea SUPER AWESOME!!! to get new investigators. We are going to get a member to dress up in the market as Santa Clause and have FREE FOTOS WITH SANTA!!! And it shall be awesome. Because we will deliver them to everybody after and share the new video with them and hopefully have like around 13 thousand baptisms. That is the plan. There might be flukes but we shall take them as they come haha! So good news DAVID is going to get baptized on the 13th of December!!! WOO HOO! I am very excited. things should be pretty great. The Lord really does make the ways so that the people can come to know his Gospel! :) I love it. :) But now here comes the COLD I am scared! Because the getting out of bed is the hardest part! But it also means that everyone is in their houses to open up to us! :) Haha So ya I am excited for this holiday season. And to work like crazy! Haha I don`t really have anything new or interesting this week besides that. But a crazy drunk guy preached to us from the book of Revelations. :) I love it. :) https://www.mormon.org/spa/navidad?cid=HP_SU_11-29-2015_dMIS_fSPC_xLIDyL1-A_ Check it out! Love ya family! :)

DIA DE GRACIAS!!!‏ November 23, 2015

Can I just stay, that I am PUMPED for thanksgiving! WOOT WOOT!!! Even though nobody really celebrates Thanksgiving but I WILL!!! I am talkin TWO CAMPECHANAS from GUERO PAPAS! HAHA I am excited. But everything is good. everything good. This week our progressing investigators both fell. We caught one drinking, and the other doesn`t open up... SOOOO back to square one. I am starting to think that I am doing something wrong. Because this happens quite often... But Hay que seguir! :) And I am happy and have many blessing to count. :) So that is good. BUT!!! This week in my studies, I read something really cool, and I shall start it with a question for you guys to ponder. WHY does the Lord want us to serve? Obviously there is to help one another. To be able to have more charity. BUT! I found another answer. :) Mosiah 5 13 For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart? So in order to know someone. We have to serve them. In Order to know God, we have to serve him. How do we serve him? Mosiah 2 17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. We need to serve each other to be able to know God! :) So I invite you all to think of how we can serve each other more. And how are we doing in our calling to serve? Love ya all! :) Elder Slade :)

Hey Family!‏ November 16, 2015

HEEEYYY FAMILY!!! :) So things here in the good ol mexico are good. Just livin the Mexican life yya know? But there is nothing really new. We just had our family and another investigator drop this week. Man I just feel like it has been pure let downs... BUT!!! HAY QUE SEQUIR! Haha I don`t really have anything new this week. And I am extremely tired. :) HAha but I am good and happy! Love you all! Sorry that it is short! Elder Slade

Buen Cambio!‏ November 9, 2015

SOOOOOO this has been a pretty good change. Lots of things have happened. And I have had MANY learning experiences. :) Which is good. So I can`t complain. God always blesses us sooo much! :) So I was trying to think about what to write and I remembered a funny, sad experience this week. Things like this happen to me a lot. and they are normal, but then I remember that they aren`t that normal. haha So We did divisions with the Youth and I was going to some appointments and contacting people in the streets and in their houses. And we saw a couple washing their car. So we start talking to them, breaking the ice, trying to wash their car. When the neighbor comes over and just sits down. And so we keep talking and contacting. Well they didn`t really want anything in the end. And so when we went to leave we shook their hands. But the neighbors hand was BROKEN!!! But she had it covered. And so I am pretty sure I injured her hand worse. :( But they were laughing and crying but I felt really bad... I don`t even know why she stuck her hand out! But ya just a funny little experience. With other news we have like tons of people that have progressed but are scared for baptism... NAMBRE!!! But its all good, because I can`t take away their agency ya know? Just need more patience! Haha But anyways! Woof another change has come and gone. So stinking fast! But I want to share a little story that I learned this week. That has helped me in my mission. Here it is. You can easily determine the caliber of a person by the amount of opposition it takes to discourage him. A student found a cocoon of a butterfly and delivered it to his biology teacher. She put it in a glass box with a heating lamp. A week later, the students saw a small opening appeared in the cocoon. The cocoon began to shake. Suddenly, tiny antennas emerged, followed by a tiny head and front legs. Students viewed the emerging insect progress throughout the day. At noon his wings emerged, the colors that revealed it to be a Monarch butterfly. He moved and shook, but try as it might, was unable to force his body through the small opening. A student decided to cut the end of the cocoon to help the insect. The butterfly emerged, but only the top half looked like a butterfly, the lower half was big and swollen. The insect was moving, dragging their wings pathetically and shortly afterwards he died. The next day, the biology teacher explained that butterflies are struggling to get through the small opening is necessary in order to force her swollen body fluids in the wings to be strong enough to fly. Without the struggle, they never develop wings. Opposition and struggles in our lives as people makes us stretch, bend, and pass the tests we confront. Opposition is needed to grow and become stronger, with more knowledge of how to win the battle against Satan. Opposition leads us to humble ourselves, seek the help of Heavenly Father and help us to be able to help others in their time of need. Trials can do two things. Overcome us, or help us. I know that if we always use our trials for the better. We are becoming the type of people that Heavenly father wants us to be. So lets all decide to use trials for our good. :) Love you all! Have a great week! Elder Slade

FAM!!!‏ November 2, 2015

Hey Family and Friends! How is it going in Utah! I can`t believe that it is already November! Things are FLYING BY!!! AHHH!!! BUT!!! I already have my awesome plan for Thanksgiving Day. My comp and I are going to buy TWO GIANT CAMPECHANAS EACH!!! MUAHAHAHA!!!! Haha Ya I am pretty excited. He doesn`t really celebrate thanksgiving but... he is always down for Campechanas. :) Who isn`t!? Haha this week has been pretty good. Pretty normal. Working hard. A couple of big disappointments but nothing that I haven`t already experienced. Haha that is the good part right? BUT!!! Elder Piper came to the mission. WOW!!! He is amazing. He is now one of my favorites. He speaks so powerfully. And he spoke about a lot of things that I don`t know what to share. But! Something really cool that I learned was about Councils. How it is that God always works in councils. Whether it is the quorum of the twelve. Or a couple in their family. Counciling brings power from God. I also learned that the Prophet NEVER says I recieved revelation and we are going to do THIS. It is always taken to the council. To the twelve apostles. And when they speak. they always start from the youngest in the quorum to the oldest. And they take a vote. And if even one of them doesn`t feel right. They take it back for more planning and changing. He said that it took two years for one project so that all of the twelve and the first presidency said yes. Isn`t that crazy? I always thought that the Prophet recieves revelation and takes decisions. Haha Something else really cool is this. Our opinion is important to the Lord in decisions. He also wants to hear and know what we have to say. About our lives. Or with our families. And for the Leaders of the chuch. Well what to do with the church. He takes into account all of this as well. He also explained very clearly about the priesthood. The opinions of woman are just important as men in a council. He talked about what it is the gives us the power of the priesthood. It isn`t the ordination. It is our covenants with the Lord. The ordination of the priesthood to men is a responsability, not a power. So with that explaination. Women that have all of their covenants have the same priesthood power in their lives as men. But men have to enter into the covenant of the preisthood. Or recieve the priesthood to be able to have the same blessings as the women. Haha It was just so clear and perfect the way he explained it. PURE DOCTRINE!!! I LOVE IT!!! But the coolest part was his testimony. In this moment I realized the truth of what Preach my Gospel says. It is not about the words that are said. Or the amount of knowledge that we have. It all depends on the conviction in our hearts. :) That is why we need to keep nurturing our testimonies. When he bore his testimony of the saviour. It was POWERFUL I am almost sure that he has seen the saviour personaly. But I want to be able to have the same conversion as Elder Piper. :) I love you family and Friends! Have a great week! Elder Slade :)

Here Comes the Rain Nanananana :)‏ October 26, 2015

So I love to talk to people in the rain because the take pity and let us into their houses. :) It really is so fun! And it is funny because my comp and I start our the day like jumping from dry spot to dry spot in the street and in the end we are just walking through the road with the water up to our knees. I don`t know why but those type of days just make me excited. My comp thinks I am crazy which is true. :) MUAHAHAA!!!! So things are good and calm here in Monterrey. Just working, and finding people. We have soooo many people but we haven`t been able to get any of them to quite take that decision! BUT we are working on it :) Just living the mexican life. :) I don`t have much time BUT!!! I will share an awesome scripture! :) it is Omni 1 26 26 And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye shouldcome unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, andpartake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption.Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as anoffering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved Remember that we need to offer our whole soul as an offering. When we take the sacrament! We should go every week with something to sacrifice. :) And if we do that every week. Hopefully in the end. There will be very little left! :) I love ya my peoples! :) Elder Slade

MILAGROS... :) ‏October 19, 2015

So we had an awesome tender mercy yesterday! :) We go to church. And we had some people in church. And everything was cool. I also got the opportunity to sing in the primary program. :) Ya... pretty awesome. But there was a guy that showed up. And I talked to him. You know like hey who are you? Where are you from? And he was like oh well. I live here. But my son is a member that lives in Utah. And he told me to go to church. And I decided that I would come for the first time. And I hope to keep coming...... :) And I was like hmmmm. That is very interesting. Can we go to your house? :) Haha I just love the Lords little surprises. :) So we got a new guy super escogido!!! :) Isn`t that the best!? Haha his name is Mercedes... Even cooler. But anyways. things are good here. I am still with my awesome comp! It was a joke that he told me that he was leaving... URG ;) Haha Man isn`t that soooo funny. Haha BUT!!! anyways. I am meditizando... or ponderizing? I think. A scripture suuuper duper cool it is this. Hel 3 35 35 Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God. I really feel like if we want to have help from God. And if we want to come closer to him. We have to Purify ourselves. And yield our hearts to God. And as we see in this scripture. It is difficult. It takes a lot of fasting and prayer. I would like to invite everyone to meditate. Fast and pray. to know what the Lord wants us to do next. I love you guys! :) Elder Slade

FAMILIA Y AMIGOS!!! :D‏ October 12, 2015

HEEELLLO! :) SOOO it has been a pretty good week. We have some people progressing to baptism. And I couldn`t be happier! HAHA Actually I could because for reasons not known to me. My comp has to change areas this Wednesday... GOOOOSH! Haha No I am just hoping that my new comp will be just as good! HAha But ya things are good. So this week I had to teach the class of gospel doctrine. I mean I have had to teach it many times. And on the spot. But this week they assigned me to do it. So I got to study it. And the topic was........ The MILENIUM!!! Haha And for the first time I realized that I didn`t know like the details of the Milenium. So I got to study it in the book called Doctrina de Salvacion. And Man!!! It is going to be sooo cool! I really want it to come now! It was also a really fun class. Like when I have time to prepare the class it is fun! We kind of had a skit to show about temple work. I had my comp be a person named Habib mohamad from some Arabian Country that never heard about the Gospel in his life. :) And we talked about temple work. And I don`t know it was just a fun class to teach. :) But that is really all that happened. I got bit by a little dog. And may have accidentally kicked in the face... But just a little like very soft. :) But I got my package! Woot Woot! Thanks for the shoes! And the treats! It shall be awesome to have them. So I don`t have much time but I want to share what our President wrote us. Super cool enjoy! :) I found this story that is a good point of how we can become the best we can be. It is in the details of our lives. The years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds and what we do in the moments that make us what we are. Several centuries ago, the emperor of Japan commissioned a Japanese artist to paint a particular species of bird for him. Months passed, then years. Finally, the emperor went personally to the artist's studio for an explanation. The artist showed a blank canvas on the easel and within fifteen minutes had finished a painting of a bird. It was a masterpiece! The emperor, who admires the painting and the great skill of the artist, asked why there had been a long delay. The artist then moved from his canvas to his cabinet where he kept his things. He took from his cabinet armfuls of drawings feathers, tendons, wings, legs, claws, eyes, beak - virtually all aspects of birds, from virtually every angle. He placed these in front of the silent Emperor, who nodded in understanding. The magnificence of any set can never be greater than any singular magnified detail. To have a great life, fight for an excellent year. Within that year, fighting for an excellent month, and within that month, fighting for a great day. On the day, fighting for a good hour. A great life is the sum of many great moments! That's what happens with our mission. The years are composed of months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds. As we work to make those seconds, minutes, hours be the best. Then our whole mission will be a success. We will remember this as one of the best times of the formation of the character of our lives. We can apply this to our lives people! Take advantage of everything! Love ya guys! And my comp says he loves you guys as well! :) Elder Sladers :)

WOW!!! :) CONFERENCE!!!‏ October 7, 2015

I just feel like a Little boy on Christmas day. I love GENERAL CONFERENCE!!! :) I don´t know why but it just FILLS ME UP!!! Haha Anyways I have some interesting news... I am now Zone Leader. I don´t know why I mean I just barely was District Leader. But I am excited about this because I am with another ZL named Elder PEREZ and HE IS AWESOME!!! :D We get along sooooo well. And I am in a place called Huasteca. It is the same zone I was in like 4 changes ago. Just a different área. So ya. :) I am pretty excited to just be JALANDO COMO LOCO!!! WOOT WOOT! Man it is soooo great. To be with this guy! :) All I can say is that the Lord knows our limits. Haha But things are good. The Lord is blessing us and I just love this opportunity to get closer to him. So I just wanted to share some impressions of General Conference. I loved ALL OF THE TALKS!! So many things to put into practice and change. It is so great. But I obviously went to conference with a question. And it was answered in a very interesting way. It was not really what was said. But what they said made me think of something. :) My question was the following. I have seen many great missionaries kind of die at the end of their misión. Or get tired. They were super great but I don´t know what happened. But maybe their excitment died off. And that scared me a Little bit. These great missionaries. Anyways my question was how can I avoid that? How can I continue ALWAYS do what the Lord wants me to do? with Energy and a whole heart. :) And it came through President Monson´s talk. And David A Bednar´s talk. It came to me. How is it that this man. Thomas S Monson can dedícate. His WHOLE LIFE energetically, constantly serving without getting tired, or better yet, Lazy. Here we are sometimes battling with feelings of wanting to be lazy. And this opportunity or misión is only two years. I realized in this moment that our leaders don´t run off of energy. It is something else. I believe it is faith, maybe love. Watching President Thomas S Monson in his talk battling with strength. And STILL Serving the Lord with all of his Might, mind, and strength. His example gives me the courage. And the motivation to press on and FIND what it is that keeps them going. I love the Lord. I have a testimony of this great work. But I still feel like I need to find more to be able to do what the Lord desires of me. All the way! I need to get closer to the Saviour. And I invite everybody to do the same. I know that is obviously what we are trying to do. But have that in mind. I know that this church is true! I love you guys! Thanks for your support and love! Have a great week. :D Elder Slade :)

Amo la mision.‏ September 28, 2015

Hello my peeps! So I am just going to start out with this week was the HARDEST week of my mission. And I would rather not go into details. BUT!!! The church is still true. And that is what matters. knowing that I really don´t want to explain what happened this week. I am going to go ahead and jump to the next step. I cannot believe that Richard G. Scott died! I loved his talks. And I loved the fact that he spoke perfect spanish. But like the rest of them he is soaking up the sun in the spirit world... Or who knows but that is what I imagine. :)GENERAL CONFERENCE IS THIS WEEEEK! AND THEY WILL CALL 3 NEW APOSTLES!!! :D I am super duper stoked. I have a feeling that at least one some won´t be be american. :) I decided that this time I am not going into the english room to see it. I am going to watch it in spanish. #1 because I was called to serve in spanish #2 because the people feel like we are seperating gringos from Mexicans. #3 I feel like I pay more attention in Spanish... It is weird but ya! I hope to recieve revelation. But A LOT of it. :) I read something in the Liahona this week. That is super interesting. It talked about what was more important. Reading the scriptures or the living day prophets. I said well they are both the same. A Prophet is a prophet. Doesn´t matter when. BUT!!! It said studying the words of the living day prophet is more important... because he tells us new revelation and Gods will in this moment. I was like WOOAH!!! and I am still trying to swallow that but that means that we need to studying more the words of living day prophets. But we can´t replace the scriptures. Just add to them. I challenge you guys to go prepared to conference. With questions. Wondering what is it that god wants you to do next. :) And I shall do the same. I love you guys! Have a great Weed! Elder Slade! :)

Hey Peeps!‏ September 21, 2015

SOOOO This week was pretty awesome! :) It was pretty hard but it was great. We had tons of opposition for the baptism of Jaquelina. It was crazy! BUT!!! WE DESTROYED THE OPPOSITION!!! Haha I mean, it is good that there is opposition because it means that she is going to be an AWESOME member and be super faithful. But the baptismal service was sooo cool! :) The spirit was soooo strong. and She bore an amazing testimony. And I just felt sooo good to be like. I was a part of this... :) O man there is nothing better. Not even jumping out of airplanes. I mean they are pretty close but this was better. ;) Haha jk they aren´t even close. These moments just make the whole mission worth it. Even the chafa parts. but anyways I will send the pic that my comp sends me. :) I want to leave you with some homework. I might have already shared this one time. BUT! I love it. Read Mathew 14. And study the reason why Peter started to sink. ALWAYS REMEMBER THE SAVIOR! :) OK? Always remember him! :) Haha I love you guys! It was short and sweet. But I am content. :) Sounds like that thing that Russ has is pretty cool. I kinda want to see it :) Haha It is always super great to hear from you guys! :) Love ya! #Churchistruebookisblue Elder Slade

September 16, 2015

Ok first off. I am sorry that I didn´t get my email off last week. That was super dumb because the internet went out. But things happen eh? Harrison is super duper precious! :) Super duper. Haha I am so happy for them and you guys. Grandma Nette wrote me and told me of all the babies that have come and are coming this year. It makes me happy. Haha So this Friday Jaquelin is going to be baptized! :) And it just makes me happy. It has been an amazing experience with her because her mom and daughter are members. And for 5 years missionaries have tried with her and she just didn´t want anything. Through this experience I have been able to see how the Lord prepares the people over time. And they finally have the desire to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. O que GOZO!!!! It is moments like these that make EVERYTHING WORTH IT! The constant rejects and all of the sacrifices. I know that what happens on the mission is for a reason. :) So that has been good. But besides her we have been struggling a little bit with finding news... still. But WE SHALL CONTINUE!!! :D haha This week has also been very Templish. I went to the temple today and the peace there is another witness of the truthfulness of the church. It gives me the strength to keep going. :) On Sunday it was the rededication of the Mexico City Temple. It was AWESOME!!! Pres. Eyering and Elder Holland were there. Elder Holland actually speaks pretty good spanish! Didn´t know that but it was cool! It was also very hilarious to see Pres Eyering not understand anything. Haha they had a translater but he tried to pronounce one of the Stakes and it is like an ancient Aztec King name and he slaughtered it. HAHA and the next one he just stops and looks at the translater with a big smile. And the translater says this crazy name and he just says Gracias. Haha :) But it was very spiritual. One of the area of the Seventy spoke and he talked about the open house of the temple where another religion came and said "I see the alter. But where is the sacrifice?" and talked about sacrifice and that the lives of us are the sacrifices. This talk reminded me of a scripture. 3 Nefi 9: 19-20 19 And ye shall offer up unto me no more the shedding of blood; yea, your sacrifices and your burnt offerings shall be done away, for I will accept none of your sacrifices and your burnt offerings. 20 And ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not. He doesn´t want sacrifices. He wants a broken heart and a contrite spirit. In the temple THAT is the sacrifice. A broken heart and a contrite spirit. :) That is it! I love mission. I love the Temple. And I love the Gospel. And I know it is true. I love you family and friends!Victory hand :D

August 31, 2015

Hey! don´t even worry about it mom! Don´t feel bad haha There are Elders that hardly even get letters. Like once a month. I am lucky that you guys write me! Haha And everything is all good! I am super duper sad to hear about Josh. You bet that I will fast and pray for him. It is good to hear that he is still smiling. It doesn´t surprise me. Josh is like the strongest kid I know. And I know that if anyone can pass such a hard trial. It is him. I will keep him in my prayers. So this week was pretty good. It was a rough one but, in the beginning on Tuesday we found a lady in the park named Claudia. She is super duper ready. She accepted everything super awesome. She is living alone with two kids and her mother that is basically paralyzed. And we gave them both blessings. That spirit was so strong and I just have a feeling that she is giong to accept the gospel. The only thing is that our new President put a rule that before somebody is baptized, they have to go to church five times. Which means basically that if we find somebody it is very likely that other missionaries are going to baptize. Which is all good but that was kind of weird to me. Haha So she is going to be progressing, as well as Jacolyn, another sister that is the daughter of a member. And she is finally accepting the Gospel. So it is fun. Meanwhile we keep searching and searching. :) Haha Lovin it. I CAN¨T WAIT FOR HARRISON!!! :) You have to send me pics! Is that alright? I can´t wait to see my Nephew! :) Haha love you guys! I am going to write Josh this week ok? Love you guys! Elder Slade

August 25, 2015

So first off... I didn´t recieve an email. But I forgive you. :) No pasa nada. But I hope that all is well in that fam. Fuertes, Sanos , felizes. :) So I got a new comp. :) His name is Elder Mendoza. He got here to the mission the same time as me. So it is pretty cool to be with a brother of my generation. He is a great Elder! He's really calm and ready to work. So I thought that I was going to be able to lay low my whole mission but this change they called me as District Leader.... Sigh... I really thought that I was going to make it without that but ni modo. It´s alright, I am going to take advantage of the opportunity to better my teaching skills :) and to serve the other Elders. So it should be good. Pray for me to be able to help them! :) The funny part of this week was yesterday in church. Sister Blanca went again (the wife of Bro. Juan Antonio.) He was getting confirmed so, we went up on the stand to confirm him. It was awesome. He looked really really happy. But when we were walking back to the bench, he turned around to me and started singing "I FEEL GOOD! da na na na na na na" and I started laughing. It is so great to see the change in this family. Since we arrived, everything was super sad because of the death of his son and now being super funny and happy. Obviously still with their problems, But happy. :) #thegospelcures Anyways! Something that I want to share in this time of going back to school is something from the story of Nephi. Something that we would say if we got the opportunity to talk to him would be this. [ ¨Man Nephi I have a ton of respect for you. You always obeyed the Lord and your parents. And you never ever complained. I complain about my blessings and you never even complained about your problems. for example, being beaten, tied up for three days, hungry, through all of that you never complained.¨ And here I am Elder Slade, like man this sun is SUPER HOT! and man we are being super rejected today... Nevertheless the mission is a blessing beyond belief It could also be like I have to wake up sooo early for... whatever. Or I am SOOO Busy! with blessings. But BUSY! Haha Let us all remember that we have WAY TOO MANY BLESSINGS to be able to complain about them. And we should try to give thanks more. Turn our complaints into prayers of gratitude. IMAGINE how many more blessings we can receive! :) I love you guys! Have a great week! EVERYBODAY!!! Elder Slade

August 17,2015

Wow! SOOOO awesome of a week! We saw some miracles. So the councilor of the ward, told us that we should try to baptize Juan Antonio because he was already super ready, completing all of his commitments, but just needed the time in church. Which he missed a couple Sundays due to some extreme health issues. To my surprise, our president gave the call to the Bishop and he said yes! So, we got the opportunity to baptize Juan Antonio! :) which was just so special, after working the beans out of this area with little results. To be able to see the change in Juan Antonio and the happiness that he has, made EVERY SINGLE REJECT WORTH IT! It is just..... great. :) Haha He is the one that lost his son and let us go to his house to offer a prayer and ended up loving the message and church. And... Well got a testimony. :) AAAAND on top of that. His wife CAME TO CHURCH!!! For the first time. Which she didn´t want to go at first because she is catholic. August 10, 2015

HEY FAMILY! MY KEYBOARD IS BROKEN SO I AM JUST GOING TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS!. SOOOOO THIS WEEK WAS PRETTY GOOD. WELL, VERY TRYING. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A TON IN CHURCH THIS WEEK BUT, ONLY ONE WENT. JUAN ANTONIO GOT SUPER SICK AGAIN!!! THE STINKING ADVERSARY! BUT IT IS OK BECAUSE HE IS STILL PROGRESSING SUPER AWESOME! BUT NOW WE WON´T BE ABLE TO BAPTIZE HIM THIS CHANGE WITH MY SON... GOOD THING I HAVE AN AWESOME COMP THAT IS SUPER CALM AND OPTOMISTIC. BUT MAN THESE HAS BEEN SOME HARD CHANGES AND ON TOP OF THAT I AM PRETTY SURE IT IS LIKE 120 DEGREES. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT... HAHA I ONLY KNOW IN CELCIUS. BUT, IT MAKES ME FEEL MORE AWESOME WHEN I OVERCOME ALL OF THE OPPOSITION. :) BUUUUUUT WE ARE GOING TO KEEP WORKING HARD. OUR ACTIVITY THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME. WE HAD LIKE 29 INVESTIGATORS GO AND ALL WERE CRYING... SUPER AWESOME! BUT ONLY 4 WERE IN OUR AREA. SO WE HAVE 4 MORE TO TEACH!!! WOOOPIIII! HAHA ANYWHO, THERE IS A BROTHER IN THE WARD THAT HAS TAUGHT ME SOOOO MUCH. HE WAS LIKE A SUPER HERO MISSIONARY IN HIS MISSION. HE READ THE BIBLE LIKE 17 TIMES BEFORE HIS MISSION... WOW!!! BUT HE IS VERY VERY SUPPORTIVE AND HE LIVES THE GOSPEL. BUT HE TAUGHT ME SOMETHING THAT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE. HE TAUGHT ME THAT EVERYTHING NEGATIVE THAT WE HAVE TO SAY, WE SAY IT IN PAST TENSE, EVEN IF IT IS RIGHT NOW. BUT IF WE TALK ABOUT IT IN PAST TENSE WE BELIEVE IT. HE HELPS SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS. FOR EXAMPLE, THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT MY SPANISH AND I WAS LIKE YA BUT I CAN´T GET RID OF MY GRINGO ACCENT. HE WAS LIKE. YOU MEAN YOU COULDN´T. AND YA IT HAS HELPED A LITTLE BIT! SO I LEAVE YOU WITH THAT COMMITMENT. USE PAST TENSE WITH THE NEGATIVE! HAHA AAAAND A SCRIPTURE THAT I LOVE TO TOP OFF EVERYTHING. JUAN 14:27. :) REMEMBER THAT HE GIVES US PEACE THAT NOBODY ELSE CAN GIVE US. :) LOVE YOU ALL! ELDER SLADERS

July 27, 2015

So!!!! This was a really good week! Juan Antonio came to church again!!! And loved it again! :D And I was super excited again! Haha He is progressing super well! We are battling still with getting his wife to go to church and everything, and his daughters, BUT, they will come along!! Maybe not with me, but I am pretty sure that they will get baptized a little later! :D I just have to say that that is soooo cool what Jamie is doing! Helping out people in AFRICA!!! :D I also want to do some stuff like that! I have a cool sister :D And Mom even if I get some new soles for my shoes, the top is a little bit ripped up too... Don´t ask me how... but ya! :D So, I still have the other pair that I can wear out as well! :D This week was pretty good with the work. We found a couple more families that were really excited. But, when we called them to wake them up for church, nobody answered and soooo we were a little bit sad. But we STILL HAD JUAN, so we are all good. I think that with a little bit more help they can get to church. :D But ya. It was awesome because this area was the hardest, and is the hardest, but something that Sister Hailey Jones told me was this: ¨There is no such thing as hard areas. Just faithless missionaries.¨ I think that I already told you guys that, but really if we work hard, do our part, and have the faith, our area is ZION. The Lord provides. I mean obviously it isn´t always as much as we want, but it is true!!! :D Well, I just want to share one of my favorite scriptures! Just kidding! The computer isn´t working to paste it, BUT, IT is in Ether 12:6!! It is always after the trial of our faith. When we aren´t sure, if we continue, then we will see results, in all things, not just the missionary work. :D Anyways! I love you guys! Have a fantastic week! :D Elder Sladers

BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!‏ July 13, 2015

Thanks so much for the BIRTHDAY WISHES!!! :D The first thing that I would like to mention is that I can now buy PISTOLS and have a concealed weapons permit. :) Ha ha, just kidding, that isn´t why my birthday was awesome but I shall tell you why. SOOOO this week was awesome. We were looking super hard for people to teach right? My companion and I were white washed in a rich area and had been praying hard for a family to teach. Well, this week we were working and just decided that we were going to go over to the colony, Puerta de Hierro, which we never do because it is an area of privadas, and we can´t enter and search. If they leave we can catch them in the street. This is not very efficient but we went over there and found one guy in the street. We were like well... I guess we will contact him so, we contacted him. We talked about the gospel and asked him questions. He then told us that his son died on June 8th. We just tried to show as much empathy as we could and told him that we have a message for him. Well, we went and taught about eternal families and he was super happy. Then HE WENT TO CHURCH!!! MIRACLE!!! And LOVED IT!!! It was all about eternal families and temples. To make a long story short, he is going to get baptized. And well, his wife is super nice but very Catholic but when she learned about the Book of Mormon and how it tells us what happens after death, she was very interested. Well, l I feel that she will also accept the GOSPEL :) and well, their two daughters might. We still don´t know them but I am just so happy to feel like an instrument in the hands of the Lord. That is ALL I WANT!!! And it is just so true what the prophet Thomas S Monson says. The best feeling in the world is to feel a prompting, act on it, and find out that it was for somebody else´s good. :) He also shared with us that he never goes out to walk and he always takes a taxi but this day he decided to walk and we found him. We call those Diosidencias. That is God and Coincidence put together. :) Anyways my birthday was great! And thanks EVERYBODY for your birthday wishes! :D I feel like an old fart b all is well in Zion. :) HARRAH FOR ISRAEL!!! Please pray for the family De La CRUZ! :) Love you guys! The church is true! :) Elder Slade

REVELATION!!!‏ July 1, 2015

Alright... Soooo this has been a pretty dificult week. I hit a point of what in the world do we do now... Because we have a very little part of the members in our area. And we have asked every single one of the for references. multiple times. And the rich people don´t react very well to just contacting. So it was like... we need some revelation. And so we have been thinking what we could do. and BOOM an idea came. We are going to talk to the President of every single privada. Or the gated areas with guards. And see if we can teach english in the park. For service. And after the class, we are going to see who will accept us in their home to recieve the message of the Restoration. And in this way we can work in the privadas... Which is more than half of the area. SOOOO I AM EXCITED!!! haha Hopefully we will see some fruits of our labors! :) Also, something that I would like to share is something important that I learned this week. So in these last couple of weeks I have had the opportunity to talk to a lot more people, because a lot less accepted us into their houses. And as you know, being rejected a ton is a little bit frustrating. I found myself getting irritated a little more, and a lot easier. And I guess you could say, that I was fed up with the rude people. And I was finding myself not as receptive to the spirit. And I couldn´t tell why. This is before I recognized the reason. Why was I feeling more anxious than calm? And I brought it up with another missionary. And he just asked me. Elder? how is your love for the people. And it hit me. That maybe my loved had been weakened a little due to my frustration. So I was studying the next day when I found the scripture Mosiah 28:3 this was a good planch for me. This is when the sons of Mosiah wanted to go and preach to the Lamanites. And in this scripture they say, we cannot bear the thought of one soul being lost. i don´t know in english I am sorry. And it hit me. Do i have this love for the people? Unconditional? meaning that no matter what they do, I still have this feeling, of not being able to bear that one of them shall perish? And then I remembered what Moroni says: Pray with all the energy of heart. That you may be filled with his love. Something like that. I have again been filled with this love. And this is my committment to everyone. That we can pray with all the energy of heart to be filled with Charity, and that we can love each other unconditionally. Anyways, this was a great lesson for me. I love you guys! have a great week! :) Elder Slade

June 23, 2015

This week was great! We met some interesting people! I don´t have a whole lot of time, but that is ok because I don´t really have a whole lot to say. Just that Braden Wall's wedding sounds like it was awesome! Man, I had many cool experiences this week, and some rough ones. We found so many nice people that just don´t want to commit. This week we will focus on that part...going to church! haha Yesterday was funny because we found a homeless guy outside of the church and we took him in. And he loved it. Needless to say, after church, we helped him. We got some food from the members and found a sister with clothes for him. And we have some couple missionaries that can teach him rehab classes. So we will see what happens with him. It's a very large process. But, we have hope for him! haha I just want to do something like that for EVERYBODY that i see... But can´t... ug haha But loving the mission life! I love ya guys! Have a great week! your Mexican Gringo Elder Slade

Eh aqui, mi hijo amado, escuchalo :)‏ June 1st, 2015

Hello my PEOPLES!!! I have some super awesome news!!! I am finally training a new missionary!!! I am so excited. Finally! :) He is great! his name is Elder Herrera. And is pretty cool. The hard part is that we got WHITE WASHED! That is when you go into an area where it is new for both of the missionaries. So I am training, without knowing anything of the area! But it is all good because we basically have been everywhere in the area now, and so I think I pretty much have things down. The sisters baptized them all and left nothing for us. So we have to start from the beginning. :) But that first day I was like shoot. Where does everybody live? Haha But this is going to be a little change. We were put into the sister´s area. So basically this area is SUPER RICH. and that makes it a little bit tougher. Because we contact there huge house, and they either come over there little camera speaker thing and say VAYANSE DE AQUI!!! O QUE QUIEREN!!! And its like, well I know you have a mercedes in your garage but we have a message that can bless your family! And make you even happier! Haha Ya I pretty much have to think of some way to contact this place better. Also there are TONS!!! Of privadas. Or places that are gated of with guards. I am thinking about going Jason Bourne status and jumping the walls and looking for people but the moment that somebody reports us, they will kick us out, and we can´t go back. Even yesterday we were just going to go eat with some members and somebody reported us just for walking the the flippin street! And I was like NO MANCHES!!! So basically the only way, is working through members. :) and getting them to take us there. Haha But the people here are also super duper worried about security. So NOBODY lets us in to there houses. And it was a little rough for my new companion. He was like, is it even possible to teach a lesson? and I was like, ummmm trust me. It is possible. Haha And after talking to a ton of people this week. One man accepted us, and listened. His name is Hector. This guy is super great! He was just chillin and when we taught him. He was just like I am Catholic since I was a baby, and we were just like, have you asked God if your church was true. And this was after he told us about a miracle answer to his prayer. And he was like.... um, no. And we challenged him to pray. And it was just super awesome, so after about 104ish rejections. Came the one. Haha It is always the last one isn´t it? But that was a great experience for my companion. And after I had been praying to be able to teach somebody with my new comp. God gave us the person. So we will see if this guy works out! :) Love ya so much my family and friends! :D Elder Slade

May 15, 2015

Hey peoples! This week was a pretty good week! I got my awesome TIGRES jersey. That says GUEROSLADE It is super awesome! I love it a ton! Right now we have two people with baptism dates! It is pretty awesome. One was a guy that is a drunk. And we just contacted his house, he came out, let us in, and he hasn´t drank anything since. Haha and he goes to church every week! This guy was prepared wasn´t he? Yes he was. Haha the other is a woman whose daughter is a member and well she said that she wants to get baptized. And we are like... OK!!! haha and she is progressing really well. It is really awesome to see the fruits of our labors after a lot of work. :) Haha it is super worth it! :) And well this morning I was listening to a famous talk from Elder Eyring. And it is about diligence in Priesthood service. And well in all type of church service. And I was thinking about what is expected of us as disciples of Jesus Christ. And the truth is that there is a lot expected of us. And everybody hits that point of being tired. And I would like to share this little part. This is from memory so I don´t know if it will be perfect. But he says ¨When I find myself drawn away from my Priesthood duties. And I feel like I deserve a rest, I give to myself this rallying cry. REMEMBER HIM. The Savior is our perfect example of diligence in Priesthood service. He taught us a lesson about what he did in the spirit world. The three days after his resurrection. After going through Gethsemane and the cross on Calvary. He entered the spirit world still determined to continue his glorious work to save souls.¨ This has helped me a lot on my mission because there are a lot of hard, hot days. But remembering the savior’s example, we can also give more and press on. And I know that diligence really is a Christlike attribute. But anyways, that is my little message today. I hope everybody has a great week! Please pray for my investigators!Ceferino, and Antonia! :) Love, Elder GUEROSLADE!!!

YES!!!‏ April 27th, 2015

ITS A BOY!!!! I am super Stoked!!! :) That makes me super happy! That will be super fun! Ivy and.... quien sabe. But anyways I am so happy for them! I AM GONNA BE AN UNCLE... AGAIN!!! Haha so great! And about my shoes mom! They are still good because I only use them on Sundays. I am just super duper wearing out the other ones. In fact one of them has lost the whole back part... But I love the breeze :) Haha And I still have the other ones that have holes that I can wear out pretty good! But I think I might need some new shirts... :) Because one of them has glue that doesn´t come off. And some of the other ones have some permanent marker that was thrown at me. And then there are some with permanent pen stains that I didn´t realize what was happening in my pocket! :) so i don´t know if that could be possible? SOOOO right now! My area feels like I am pushing a huge boulder that doesn´t move! HAHA I know that it is making me stronger and better, so it is all good. We are giving a ton of people there opportunity to choose. Which is super great! Even though as a missionary, other peoples agency is frustrating. It is all good! :) I love the mission! And the sad part of this week is that my favorite dog died. His name was Tommy which made me love him even more :( Haha we always played a little when we went to their house. And then we went there and we was super sick. But he got up and followed us.And she was like this is the first time he has gotten up for days! Because we got there. But now he is gone. Haha But it is great that the people are still here right! Haha. The miracle part of my week was when we went to look for an investigator. And my companion. ¨Accidentally¨ knocked the wrong door. And one of our less active members that moved came out. We couldn´t find him before. But because my comp knocked the wrong door. We found him. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!! :) Haha the Lord works through us even though sometimes we don´t realize it! :) Haha but this was a good week. I am excited to keep finding, teaching, and inviting! Pray for me and my area POR FAVOR!!! :) I love you guys! Have a fantastic WEEK!

Que pachuca por tu luca!‏

Ok so conference was absolutely the coolest thing in the world. I loved every single talk! Man It was so powerful! For some reason the seventy is super powerful! And planch us a ton! I loved Elder Hollands talk. And I loved Elder Eyring´s talk! :) I have also seen the blessing of Fast Offerings in peoples lives that were desperate! And man it is so great! I don´t even know what one I loved the most! Oak´s talk was super awesome too! IF YOU ARE TEXTING DURING THE SACRAMENT! YOU ARE HEADING FOR ROCKY GROUND!!! Man that was like... super awesome! Haha But ya that conference was awesome! I also loved the whole theme of families. The importance of family! The mission has really helped me understand the importance of family. And has made me feel super super blessed for you guys. I can´t count how many blessings I have had. They are just so many. And my week this week was more on the rough side... But that is the way it goes. Can´t have good weeks without knowing what hard feels like. :) Haha And I am happy that you guys had an amazing time in Disneyland! :D I hope you ate a Turkey leg chimichonga for me! :D HAha remember that? Haha good times. Love ya guys! Have a good week!

GUESS WHAT!!!‏ March 23, 2015

I just got my Christmas package from Grandma and Grandpa Bennett! No manches!!! :D Haha And the coolest thing is that as missionaries we trade ties right? And I realized this week that I traded all my ties that go with one of my suits. and I was like NOOO! Now I have to wait to be able to find some ties that go with my suit. And then the next day. I get the package, I open the package, and got two extremely beautiful ties that go perfectly with my suit! I would like to bare my testimony that Grandparents are inspired in everything they do! Haha :) Thanks Grandma and Grandpa! :) Haha It was so cool! haha So yesterday we had a baptism. Her name is Juana. And she has been smoking for the last 31 years of her life! And she quit and is now baptized! Haha Crazy eh? Such a blessing. Man I love the mission. The ups and downs. The downs and more downs. And the ups and ups! :) Haha super great. We have a lot of other prospects too so we will be busy these next couple weeks. This week we got to go to the temple with the ward and bring investigators. The spirit was so strong! And we watched the Joseph Smith story in the waiting room. And walked around the temple. Super great week. Good experience! Haha But that is pretty much it for this week! I love you guys! Thanks for everything! Church is true! The Book is Blue! Elder Sladisimo!?!

Elder Slade in the house!‏ March 16, 2015

What!!!! Elise cut her hair. That is the most surprising to me! I am shocked out of my mind! Haha That is so cool! I am so happy for Tay that he got a Job doing what he likes to do! He will be a perfect diesel mechanic. I never saw him as a pharmacist anyway! ;) No just kidding. Him and Jamie got the Genius genes of the family. They could do whatever they want! Haha Jamie and her crazy traveling plans sound as great as ever! haha I am pretty sure she will see the whole world before I get home! ;) haha So this week was pretty great! Elder Argueta and I worked so hard! I was reading a talk. About a 40 day fast like what Jesus Christ did. But this is a fast of everything that impedes the spirit. Thoughts of anything that are basically outside of the gospel. And other habits that aren´t the best. Just completely sanctifying ourselves even more. And I was surprised when Elder Argueta was excited for it. What they say it does. Is completely changes the desires of somebody. To really really have the same will as God. And for a missionary. It helps us have more power when we testify. And I have already felt the difference. I just feel more love, and gratitud mostly. Basically we are looking for miracles. Because man I believe in miracles. We have seen some amazing things happen. For example we contacted a man on the street. And gave him a Book of Mormon. then we went about our day. And ended up knocking on his door the same day. And his wife answered. Then when we returned we figured out that they were husband and wife. I was like no way! The Lord is leading us to these people that are prepared. And they need lots of help with their family. So we did a family prayer, and the spirit was just so strong! Haha Super cool experience that I won´t forget. But anyways. I think I shall bear my testimony once again. Everyday that I have the opportunity to study and work. The more I realize and found out that these things are IMPORTANT and TRUE. I really know that these things are true. That there was a need for an infinite atonement. That it had to be Jesus Christ and nobody else. That even though there is suffering in the world, God is perfectly just and has a plan for everybody. And I know that if we do what we are called to do in this short time that God has given us. We can receive exaltation. All we have to do is be diligent and consistently progress. God does not expect immediate perfection. But he expects immediate progression. And I know that The Book of Mormon is true. No evil man could right such a book, and no good man would write it.. unless it were true. (Elder Holland). I know that we have a Prophet. He really leads and guides this church. God loves us. And I know this! And I invite everybody to study the scriptures. Don´t just water ski over them. Scuba dive in them! Haha! I love that. Anyways! I love you guys! Thanks for the support and your love! Love you guys! Elder Slade

What a CHANGE!!!‏ March 02, 2015

Man so tonight this change ends! It has been a super great change! I have learned so much from Elder Gonzalez de Salceda! Man this guy is amazing. We still don´t know the changes until tonight. And we don´t know for sure who will go, who will stay, or if we both stay. We think that Elder G is leaving. But we will see! Haha Also you will be happy to know that I took a lot of photos this change. Which is usually something that I don´t do but there were some times that I wanted to remember. :) Haha Soooooo, some good news! Alejondra , and Narda are progressing super well! It is so cool to be with this family. They are really fun. And we found out that the dad is a member. He didn´t remember but he is! :) Just was baptized a long time ago. So we just have to reactivate him! Haha. Also there is another lady named Juana. Her family was baptized like 6 weeks ago. But she couldn´t because she loves to smoke. But they lost there job. (a super hard trial for them) and they didn´t have money for cigaretes and is breaking the habit! Haha The Lord works in mysterious ways eh? :) Haha And she accepted a date for the 22nd of March. So we will see how that works out! :D Man! Also we have some other prospects in mind! So the work is going great! That is so cool for Kaden Clements! Tell him the he is a Stud Muffin and I love his face! And that, his calling is sooo coooool! And perfect for him! Haha Thanks for the news! I love you guys sooo much! Por Favor Pray for these peoples! I just know that your prayers have helped us out here in the mission! Love you guys! Elder Sladey Cakes? :D

Beunos Dias! February 23, 2015

It is officially super weird to think that Rhett is married. What in the world! Haha And Jordan and Kayla are next! Haha Super crazyness! And now Nick is going on his mission on Wednesday! Haha Everything is just so exciting back there haha! And I can´t believe that Tyler is home. That was super quick for me. Are you sure he served two years? Haha no just kidding. But now (du du du duuuuuuuh) for a super cool spiritual experience in this week. I was on divisions with Elder Sanchez. Who is a great Elder. And he came to my area. And we felt like we should go to try some former investigators. And these former investigators have family in the States that are members. But we knocked on there door. And they invited us in. And I was like hi! I think you already knew some missionaries before. But we are new! And we talked for a bit. And then they said. So they sent you? And we were like what? And they were like ya we had another family member get baptized this week into your church and they told us that they were going to send us the missionaries. and we were like um... no, we just felt like we should come! Haha And it is funny. The dad is now the only one left that isn´t a member out of his brothers and sisters. And he said I don´t get it! It started with one, and now they are all Mormon. And in my mind I was like... And you are next MUAHAHAHA no just kidding! :) He still doesn´t want it. But his daughter and wife have accepted a baptismal date! Woot woot! And then he will probably accept :) Haha super exciting! Haha But this week is the last week of this change and probably my last week with Elder Gonzalez de Salceda! :( He has been the best companion. And I wish I could just stay with him forever. But we are going to work bien machin this week! Man this has been the fastest, awesomest change ever! But anyways! All is well in Mexico! Lovin Life! :D Thanks for your love and suppport! Love you guys! Elder Guapisimo humilde Slade ;) Oh also! Could you guys keep in your prayers. This family. Their names are Cosme, Cosme hijo, Narda, Alejondra, and Anesol. :) Thanks so much! I just know prayers bring miracles! :)

HEY HEY HEY! February 4, 2015

Hello Peoples! This week has been pretty awesome! We had the Baptism of Domitila and Elvis. Man they were prepared. And then we found another Jehovahs Witness with a lot of doubts. And she was like I still haven´t found the church that has satisfied me. And what she had heard about our church were things not true. And I was like have you ever tried ours? And she was like well, no. And I was like well church is like a cake. You have to try it to know if it is good. And she was like... Hey, you are right. Haha! It is like the dumbest thing I have ever said but it was exactly what she needed! Haha It was pretty funny. So anyway. She has some potential. And I am just taking advantage of having this companion. We work like nobodies buisness. Because we have both had some difficult comps. Not bad comps but just not as excited I guess you could say, haha. And if one doesn´t want to work. Then it effects them both. So we are just like go go go! And it just feels sooo good to just work! Oh ya! And I got my shoes mom! Thanks! Because this week my other ECCOS got holes. Hahaha! And they still work when it isn´t raining. But when it is raining my feet get wet! And right now the rain has been cold and my feet have pretty cold and wet every night! So I am stoked to have some waterproof shoes for those rainy days! I am just going to save those shoes for the rainy days! And keep them nice. haha I am stoked for these shoes! Thanks mom! So that is so awesome for Tay! Those Diesel Mechanics make bank from what I have heard! That is just perfect for him! And Jamie is traveling again! She has got to do something with other cultures and lots of traveling! Haha Sounds so great! I love you family and friends! Thanks for your support, and love! Life is good! The mission is good! Love, Elder Slade :D

HOLY BEANS! January 26, 2015

Braden and Lyndee are engaged!!! That is CRAZY!!! Haha Every stinking person that I know is getting engaged! Haha It is crazy beans! All of my friends! Haha That is so cool! That is crazy! I didn´t know that Tanner was home! Haha That is so awesome! Soon Kaylen will be too! haha how exciting! Can somebody give me Tanner´s email? Haha I would love to write him. Ok, so A LOT has changed. We had changes and I left the area of Fraustro and went to Balcones. And my companion is Elder Gonzalez de Salceda....... He is American.... Haha no just kidding, he is from Mexico City! And Este Cuate is super cool! I never dreamed of having a comp like this! He works so stinking hard! And I LOOOOVE it! Haha He is showing me how to do things in the most awesome effective way there is. It is also cool because like three weeks before I arrived, they were searching for people to teach. And they had been getting doors slammed in there face all day. And then they knocked this one door. And this lady answered. And It was crazy because she was Jehovahs Witness for 20 years. But her daughter just died and she was praying and praying for answers because the JW´s believe that after death, you are just asleep.. Or just dead and there isn´t life after... And so she was super sad and praying for an answer, and they knocked on her door. And BOOM! ESCOGIDO! She is getting baptized this Sunday, with her son! Haha Crazy beans! And this week we found another escogido name Guadalupe. And she went to church, and accepted a baptismal date. It is so weird. Like the people in this area accept us a lot more! It is awesome! But I just feel good to have someone that pulls me along! Like he works sooo hard! Haha it is just sooo fun. Haha Oh ya, and we have like the most fresa house in the mission. It has....... A WASHER!!! :) HAHA like the only house in the mission that has a washer. It is a good house. So ya good stuff! It sounds like things are good back there in the Bury! Haha Man, This week, we had a lot of spiritual experiences. One sister told us that she was going inactive because she got offended. But we had a crazy awesome experience with her. We shared the talk about STAY IN THE BOAT!!! From last conference, And we were just like look, EVERY trial that we have gives us two options. To get closer to God, or get farther away. And that hit me! Everything gives us that choice! And if we choose to get closer every time. We will progress throughout all of our lives! Haha Anyways! Short on time! Thanks sooo much For everything! Oh ya, I got my Christmas package today!!! :D thanks for all of that! Haha Anyways! Write ya next week! Love ya guys! Elder Sladers!

No Me Vengas!!! January 20, 2015

Another Slade Baby!!!!!! :D SAWEEET BEANS! That is soo cool! I am so happy for that! Haha That is a really cool. It sounds like things are going well in the Slade Fam! And Riley is home! How exciting I bet Shawna, Niel and Ella are just stoked out of their minds! Haha Sounds like his talk was really good. I am glad that he is back! And that is just the start! Soon it is all of my other friends! haha Cool beans! So this week, I was just like ok... I am sick of getting doors slammed in the face! I am done not having people to teach, and we need to get this ward involved! So we went to the Young Womens and Mens presidents. And we organized an activity. and Saturday, we put a table in the street market. And went to work. And in 3 hours we got more than the weeks goal of contacts and had some young men and women help us! It was a saweeeet activity! And now we have some people to visit. I mean when things get hard in the area. You just have to think. The more NOs the more Yesses. And that is what we are doing now. Just trying to get quantity! So that maybe, we will find some quality. Haha But I have learned a ton in these passed three changes. Some things were harder to learn than others. But it was a good experience. Tonight we will see where I go for the next change. And if I stay. Well it is for a reason eh? Now, cool random thing that my ward mission leader taught me. He has taught me a lot of doctine and how everything has a symbol with it. And there was one yesterday that he shared with me. He said that when we go on the mission, it is like when Heavenly Father sent Jesus Christ to earth. We experience a separation from our parents. And the parents come to know our father in heaven so much more because they are feeling in a small sense what he felt when he sent Jesus Christ to the earth to suffer for our sins. Not that I am suffering. But what hit me is that the mission, is for the Parents too! I am seeing that there is a reason for everything we do in the church. The simplest thing can represent the most profound thing. Now to leave you guys with a commitment to read a scripture. D C 123:17. This is what I have learned over the past three changes. And I am thankful for the experiences! :) I love you guys so much! Have a great week!

Que pasa!‏ January 12, 2015

SOOOOOOO, thanks for the update on Kendal! All those phrases sound exactly like her! :) That makes me super duper happy! The last I heard was that she was just opening her eyes. So I am glad that she is recovering well! And being super duper funny! Haha So today I bought some ties, and a sick umbrella, and an amazingly awesome bag! So I am pretty excited for all of that! And this week was pretty good too! Found a lot of good potential people to teach! :) Also the President has started this thing where we are reading the whole Book of Mormon in 45 days! And it is pretty sweet! I really love the Book of Mormon a whole lot! And it is such a treat to be able to read it a lot more! I love the Book of Mormon in Spanish. It is really cool! :) I get different stuff out of it than when it is in English! :) So now the weather is super weird! Saturday, I was colder than I had ever been in my entire life! And today I am dying of heat! And I am like getting burned! Haha It is also pretty hard to get up in the mornings because it is like 44 degrees in the house. And I have to run outside to light the boiler to take a shower! haha So I like sprint out, light it, sprint back, and dive in my bed, and then I do my exercise in bed... which is probably not the best, but It is just that the floor is sooo cold in the mornings! and I don´t like to touch it! Haha But to make a long story short, the weather is super duper weird here. So, it sounds like everything is good back home! I thank you so much for the support again! And for everything that you guys do for me! I love you all! Elder Slade

Hello!!!‏ December 29, 2014

Hello everybody! How is it going! This week was a really fun week! Being Christmas and all. We ate SOOO MUCH FOOD! Everybody gave us tomales and stuff! We also got to have a dinner of Carne asada! Which is just this delicious meat! :) So that was pretty good! And being able to skype with the family was just so awesome! :) I am so happy that I got to Skype you guys! Best present ever! Haha It sounds like dad´s surgery was a success. Especially being able to go recooperate at the Grandma Nettes Bed and Breakfast. ;) That sounds like a good time to me! :) And thanks mom for sending me more perfect food! That will help me out a lot! Because my diet isn´t exactly balanced ya know? Like Beans, rice, more beans, more rice, and some meat. :) Haha gotta love Mexico! Also with the whole shoes thing. I really like the Eccos that I have! I think would like another pair of these Eccos for when my shoes are wet! :) Size 39! :) I know what you said is true mom! I know that the Lord is molding me a ton right now. I don´t enjoy being molded. It is super extremely humbling to know that I cannot do anything without the Lord. Like being in this area in these circumstances and just everything that is happening is just molding me. I know it. I also know that this is a huge trial of my faith. And that I need to have hope that the Lord will fulfill his promises with me! I read the papers of my setting apart prayer that Heidi wrote for me. And the council it gave was just crazy. The Lord new what my circumstances were going to be on the mission. And it just made me feel better about everything that is happening. :) Cuz it was a good reminder that I am in the Lords hands! :) I really really do love the mission. It is such a great experience. :) I just love it so much! Even though its not sunshine and rainbows! :) I love you guys soooo much! :) Thanks for all the support and the Love! Elder Aussy Sladers :)
