Buen Cambio!‏ November 9, 2015

SOOOOOO this has been a pretty good change. Lots of things have happened. And I have had MANY learning experiences. :) Which is good. So I can`t complain. God always blesses us sooo much! :) So I was trying to think about what to write and I remembered a funny, sad experience this week. Things like this happen to me a lot. and they are normal, but then I remember that they aren`t that normal. haha So We did divisions with the Youth and I was going to some appointments and contacting people in the streets and in their houses. And we saw a couple washing their car. So we start talking to them, breaking the ice, trying to wash their car. When the neighbor comes over and just sits down. And so we keep talking and contacting. Well they didn`t really want anything in the end. And so when we went to leave we shook their hands. But the neighbors hand was BROKEN!!! But she had it covered. And so I am pretty sure I injured her hand worse. :( But they were laughing and crying but I felt really bad... I don`t even know why she stuck her hand out! But ya just a funny little experience. With other news we have like tons of people that have progressed but are scared for baptism... NAMBRE!!! But its all good, because I can`t take away their agency ya know? Just need more patience! Haha But anyways! Woof another change has come and gone. So stinking fast! But I want to share a little story that I learned this week. That has helped me in my mission. Here it is. You can easily determine the caliber of a person by the amount of opposition it takes to discourage him. A student found a cocoon of a butterfly and delivered it to his biology teacher. She put it in a glass box with a heating lamp. A week later, the students saw a small opening appeared in the cocoon. The cocoon began to shake. Suddenly, tiny antennas emerged, followed by a tiny head and front legs. Students viewed the emerging insect progress throughout the day. At noon his wings emerged, the colors that revealed it to be a Monarch butterfly. He moved and shook, but try as it might, was unable to force his body through the small opening. A student decided to cut the end of the cocoon to help the insect. The butterfly emerged, but only the top half looked like a butterfly, the lower half was big and swollen. The insect was moving, dragging their wings pathetically and shortly afterwards he died. The next day, the biology teacher explained that butterflies are struggling to get through the small opening is necessary in order to force her swollen body fluids in the wings to be strong enough to fly. Without the struggle, they never develop wings. Opposition and struggles in our lives as people makes us stretch, bend, and pass the tests we confront. Opposition is needed to grow and become stronger, with more knowledge of how to win the battle against Satan. Opposition leads us to humble ourselves, seek the help of Heavenly Father and help us to be able to help others in their time of need. Trials can do two things. Overcome us, or help us. I know that if we always use our trials for the better. We are becoming the type of people that Heavenly father wants us to be. So lets all decide to use trials for our good. :) Love you all! Have a great week! Elder Slade
