Alianza Real! March 28, 2016

So this place is awesome. I am doing awesome with this bike. It is pretty fun, but it makes you sore if you know what I mean. And I am with Elder Bishop. He is super cool. We are working hard. And loving life. So this is my first branch in the mission. It is crazy. More people go to this branch than all of the wards in my mission. We squeeze in like more than 100 into what is like our basement. Haha It is fun! :) But his week we had a cool experience. We found a guy named Fransisco. He wants to get to know God. Know if he is real. For the sake of his son. And we taught him about the restoration. So on Wednesday we gave him a Book of Mormon. And on Friday we went back. And he was in 2 Nephi 18!!! And he remembered like all of it more than I do! He made like all of the connections. Like the profecy about The prophets name of the restoration would be Joseph. And everything. And it is funny because he doesn´t look like a smart guy. he dresses like a skater with really long hair But he is incredibly smart. And in church. The Gospel Principles teacher was like dumming things down for him, and he just smiled and said ya I think I understand... Haha I was laughing on the inside. :) But he accepted baptism. So we are working with him. We have more people but he is the star of the week. So this week I was reading in Alma 24. About the Anti nephi lehies. And we were making the connection with our lives. They sacrificed their weapons of war. That was something that they liked. But they made a vow to NEVER take them about again. Alma 24 16 And now, my brethren, if our brethren seek to destroy us, behold, we will hide away our swords, yea, even we will bury them deep in the earth, that they may be kept bright, as a testimony that we have never used them, at the last day; and if our brethren destroy us, behold, we shallgo to our God and shall be saved. 17 And now it came to pass that when the king had made an end of these sayings, and all the people were assembled together, they took their swords, and all the weapons which were used for the shedding of man’s blood, and they did bury them up deep in the earth. 18 And this they did, it being in their view a testimony to God, and also to men, that they never would use weapons again for the shedding of man’s blood; and this they did, vouching and covenanting with God, that rather than shed the blood of their brethren they would give up their own lives; and rather than take away from a brother they would give unto him; and rather than spend their days in idleness they would labor abundantly with their hands. When we take the sacrament, let us think of what weapon we will bury this week. Maybe it is pride, or a change of language, but if we can do this every week. Imagine how good we could be at the end of our lives. I love you all so very much! Elder Slade
